BINUS Visit Universitas Brawijaya (UB)

Universitas Bina Nusantara (BINUS) visited Universitas Brawijaya (UB) on Thursday (9/6). The visit was represented by Dr. Ir. Boto Simatupang MBP, the Vice Rector IV and Stephen G. Kurnia ST MM, a M. Comm Manager of BINUS Institutions Development Center. Their arrival were welcomed by the Vice Rector I, Prof. Dr. Ir. Bambang Suharto, MS on the Meeting Room of 7th Floor.”Our arrival to UB is to introduce a program of strategic collaboration between universities in Indonesia.”said Boto to open his speech. Furthermore, Boto explained this program was a response to the challenges of all universities in Indonesia in responding to national issues. “The competitions among universities are globally increased, this must be anticipated to strengthen the relationship between universities in Indoneisa,” he said. This program has a major agenda that includes the exchange of researches, lecturers and students. The three agendas are the exchange in terms of inter-university researches, exchange of lecturers and students by collaborating with abroad universities. Responding to the concepts which were offered by BINUS, Bambang said the idea of students exchange was very good in the current era of globalization. “To realize this idea, it needs more coordination and preparation,” he said. Dr. Ir. Hendrawan Soetanto MRurSc who had the opportunity to attend the occasion submitted about the program like this, UB UI, UGM and IPB had proposed a MAHE program (Master of Arts in Higer Education and Student Development). This program was to increase the capacity of students and teachers, but due to the limited funds, this program can not be done. Boto hoped that the strategic collaboration programs between universities in Indonesia were able to create the values of academic excellence through the mobility of researches, lecturers and students and also the cooperation among universities can be established.
